Education: Minnesota has a constitutional
responsibility to provide a solid core education
to every child in
Minnesota. Over the past few years
Minnesota has had less than adequate
funding for our schools. If we don’t act now
our property taxes will continue to increase and
the burden of funding our schools will rely too
heavily on our local community taxpayers, and
our children’s education will suffer because of
it.
Transportation:
All you have to do is drive on the roads
across District 25 and the state and you
can see how our roads are in need of repair. The
repairs need to be done today. We all know that
we cannot wait until tomorrow. For the
past few years
Minnesota has been putting bandages on
repairs that required a tourniquet. This needs
to be dealt with now.
HealthCare: We need to ensure that
Minnesotan’s have the opportunity to gain
affordable and accessible healthcare. We must
see to it that all of our children have
healthcare and Congress needs to pass the S-CHIP
Resolution. Prescription Drug Plans need to be
made affordable for every Minnesotan. We should
be able to negotiate the prices of our
medications instead of the drug company’s
dictating the prices to us.
Outdoors/Arts Amendment (90/10): Plain and
simple, this amendment must be passed. I am in
favor of it and will work to see it gets
passed. The money from this amendment will go
towards preserving our natural resources for our
future generations so they can enjoy hunting,
fishing, hiking, camping, and bird watching just
as we do now.
